rxhi?16:26
bkhlHi.16:26
rxive a question. tango icons are licensed under a cc share-alike license. can i use the icons in a closed-source freeware (windows version)? i dont understand the license.. i dont understand the term "derivative work"... does that mean that i cant modify the icons without making them available? or that applies to the whole application? like ive to make my freeware opensource if i want to use the icons?16:27
bkhlNo, you can not modify them and redistribute under another license.16:27
rxbut if i dont modify them...can i distribute them as is under another license?16:28
bkhlNo.16:28
rxwhat if i load them dynamically?16:28
bkhlIf they are images I guess you can keep them as separate files.16:28
rxyeah16:28
bkhlThat may not constitute a derivative work.16:28
bkhlBut you would have to ask a lawyer.16:29

cchelpbotNew news from http://creativecommons.org/weblog/rss: A Report on the Commons <http://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/6106>23:04
paulproteusmlinksva, The Lessig Letter on the CC blog is confusing in that it suggests how to unsubscribe at the bottom.23:23
mlinksvapaulproteus, yeah, it is mildly confusing.  i don't think it is too bad and it would be painful to change right now.  won't be repeated :)23:41
paulproteusmlinksva, Sounds fine. (-:23:42
